Code of Discipline

Officiating is a significant responsibility, which can be demanding. The following protocol is in place to maintain integrity, structure, control and consistency. These rules shall address the issue of disciplinary action when any official demonstrates the following:

Fine = 25% of Game Fee

Those officials who are running late and arriving after the 30-minute deadline will not be penalised if they have contacted the game officials at least 20-minutes prior to the start of the game and are on the ice prior to the start of warm-up.

ABSENT FOR A GAME OR SERIES OF GAMES:
1ST OFFENCE: Fine = 75% of Game Fee (per game missed)
2ND OFFENCE: Fine = 100% of Game Fee (per game missed)
3RD OFFENCE: Season Over

NOT ON THE ICE PRIOR TO THE START OF WARM-UP:
Fine = 50% of Game Fee

FAILING TO NOTIFY THE ASSIGNOR WHEN A FELLOW OFFICIAL ISN'T PRESENT 15-MINUTES PRIOR TO THE GAME:
Fine = 25% of Game Fee

NOTES
All fines issued will be automatically deducted from an official's pay and put into a rewards fund.

Any situations not outlined above (including poor conduct) will be dealt with by the Review Committee on a case-by-case basis.

REVIEW COMMITTEE
This committee has been formed to ensure impartiality, equality, integrity and consistency when handling all review matters.

A group of senior officials are selected annually based on their leadership skills, maturity, professionalism, knowledge of hockey and dedication to officiating. They oversee and manage specific discipline/suspension issues.

Their objective is to represent the philosophy and values of the DWMHA. They set the standard that will be adhered to by all officials within the Association.
